是日本的朋友神山和夫先生的请求。希望能在2014年1月4日至19日间（可能的话，主要调查日是1月12日），在东北亚各地收集野鸭的雌雄数量比例。调查的原因是去年冬天欧洲的红头潜鸭有一个雄性比例随纬度增加的趋势，而日本的调查也发觉针尾鸭、赤膀鸭、凤头潜鸭的雌雄也有类似的偏差。所以希望有一个较大面积的调查。
调查不限形式，只需要在1月4-19日间（最好能在12日），把观察到的野鸭种类和雌雄数量，连同日期和地点，电邮神山先生即可，也可以跟贴在下面。神山先生会把调查结果告知。

Duck Male/Female Bias Survey
Wintering flocks of some duck species show biased sex ratio. This tendency is especially notable in Common Pochard. A study in Europe shows number of male pochard increases in proportion to latitude. Results of 2012/13 survey in Japan also shows male biased sex ratio in Northern Pintail, Gadwall, and Tufted Duck.
In January 2014, Japan Bird Research Association will conduct a large scale sex ratio survey of ducks, and we would like to ask birdwatchers in Hong Kong to participate in the survey.
Aim: Figuring out sex ratio of duck species and whether the ratio differs in different latitude in East Asian-Australasian Flyway.
Target: All duck and merganser species.
Period: Between 4th and 19th January 2014. Core count date is Sunday, 12th January.
How to send your count: Email to “koyama@bird-research.jp”. There is no specific report format.
Results: will send you an analytical report with all the count data we collected.
