This picture is what many South African ornithologists believe is a new species,the Cape Gull/Larus vetula.This gull is believed to be a race of Kelp Gull/Larus dominicanus vetula by others.Many ornithologists think that it still is,so who knows who is right?</P>

<>Cape Gull被鸟类学家于1992年从Kelp Gull的大家庭中独立出来，然而对于它是否构成了一个单独的鸟种，学术界尚未达成共识。</P>
<>主要的区别如下：</P>
<>1。Kelp Gull的虹膜是浅灰色或灰黄色的，而Cape Gull的虹膜是暗褐色的。</P>
<>2。一般说来，Cape Gull的体形更大一些。</P>
<>3。Cape Gull的头顶更圆。</P>
